HYDROPOWER EUROPE Interactive Workshop: Hydropower seeking its role in the clean energy transition

      | More

Registration is now open for this unique online event, which is scheduled for 09:00-12:00 on 12th and 13th October 2020.  Participation is free of charge.

For the last two years, HYDROPOWER EUROPE partners have worked on a continuous consultation process through online consultations as well as regional and technical workshops. As a result, feedback from diverse stakeholders, including expert groups, industry actors and other interested parties was gathered.

This workshop is the last opportunity for stakeholders to participate in the consultation process and help to shape recommendations for the future of hydropower in Europe. The workshop will bring together EU policymakers, the hydropower industry, and civil society organisations to discuss and gather feedback on the following aspects of hydropower:

  1. Policy and regulatory issues: Designing a supportive EU framework for the hydropower sector
  2. Technical challenges and research and innovation priorities: Developing innovative concepts and technologies to boost hydropower potential
  3. Environmental issues: Best practices and solutions to make hydropower energy more environmentally-friendly
  4. Social issues: Bridging the gap between industry and civil society

The participation of all the stakeholders in this workshop is key to ensure the representation of diverse opinions and transparent public debate on the future of hydropower, especially how can hydropower contribute to a successful clean energy transition!
